Busy Weekend.

We had a busy weekend. On Saturday we attended our friends, Alfonso & Dana's daughter's first birthday party. Sunday, I went to my good pal's baby shower...

SUNDAY
This is Constance's baby belly and her sister-in-law (who's 4!).

She is due December 25th! A Christmas baby.

SATURDAY
Dana & Salome with the first birthday cupcake!

The baby girls... Machita (you should have seen the jewelry on this baby - she was all chola!), Salome, & Bitty "blondie".

Salome devours the cupcake... there was frosting everywhere!

pink bobbles

Marvelous hat I was able to snag, and for cheap. Don't you just LOVE it? :)

She's really not a baby anymore... awwww, kinda sad.

Cool weather = cool hats

Well, I've been a bad mommy the last two weeks and failed to document any photo worthy moments, either due to simple neglect or forgetfulness (no camera).

There was a classic moment during garden clean up last week where she was cover in mud, so much so, you could not tell what color her outfit was supposed to be. She loves diggin' in da dirt. A myriad of other noteworthy happenings have passed... without any photographic evidence.

As cooler weather settles on us though, I had to go out and purchase new hats to keep the Bitty's precious little noggin warm - just you wait! Here is the most subdued of the bunch, an adorable, knitted skullcap in stripes.

P.S. Thanks to Aunty Lori for the jacket - which still fits the midget!!!

Suzie Homemaker Extraordinaire

Winter preparations begin in June with the arrival of summer's first bounty, cherries. It is now fall, and after having put up cherries, apricots, peaches, pears, tomatoes, herbs, and other goodies, we have finished with...

APPLES!
We made apple sauce & pie filling and a HUGE mess of my mother's kitchen. However, come January, we will have forgotten the backbreaking, sticky work done during the summer and early fall months, and just enjoy all the pantry has to offer us!

The happy hens; Shelley (Stace's sister-in-law), Me, Stace, & Andrea (friend of Stace).

In need of a break, Bitty & Aunty Staci go out to feed the cows apple peels & cores.

gammy's bubbler

Curious Georgette decided that Trudi's water feature was just too fascinating too resist...

She completely soaked herself playing in the water.

I 'm just glad she didn't combine her love of throwing rocks with playing in ceramic bubbler, that would have been ugly... and expensive.

Enchiladas

This is what happens when you allow your 1 year old to help you make enchiladas...

The photos are really not conveying the pigsty that we created! She really enjoys "helping" in the kitchen though. "Helping": placing all matter of ingredients in the mouth, sometimes eating it and sometimes spitting it out, throwing ingredients, grabbing the bag of tortillas and removing them one at a time - taking a bite from each...

I didn't get a shot of the floor but it was something to behold.

MMMMmmmmm... tortillas and roasted peppers.

The enchiladas turned out great and were somewhat spicy. She would take a bite, squeal & whine, and then eat some more. It was really funny.

Moose

Katie & Mitch came for a visit yesterday. We had a lovely stroll, went out for lunch, & chatted the afternoon away.
Mitchell Bryan Johnson is 2 months old today and weighs in at 14 plus lbs, he is an adorable chunky chunk and his moniker of "Moose" seems to fit. Let us keep in mind that our Itty Bitty is now 14 months old and only has 3-4 lbs on Mitch, what a midget!

Be sure to click & enlarge this photo, the concerned look on Bitty's face as she pats Mitch's head is quite funny. Oddly, our little ogre was very gentle with the baby and spent a large portion of his visit looking for his belly button. :)
