Jeff & Emily get married!

The Happy Couple
Jeff & Emily were married on New Year's Eve, the purpose for everyone's trip to Colorado. It was a really pretty ceremony, Emily was straight out of a bridal magazine, and the reception was a party that lasted until midnight or so. There aren't really any photos of Eric and I because we snuck out very early - I was feeling pregnant and tired and Eric was feeling nasty & hungover from the previous evening's antics. I'm sure we were sawing logs back at Aunty Lolo's by ten o'clock, party poopers! I do believe I've attached 15 or so photos to this post, I just couldn't chop any more out!
Ooooooo... pretty!

Just married!

Red Rocks

Red Rocks is a natural amphitheatre that sticks out the side of the Rocky Mountain foothills, all these giant rocks just randomly protruding from what appears to be nowhere. This was one of our daytime outings...

Cousin Brandon, all smiles ya'll!

Bitty & Tyler

Tyler Aidan Overman is my cousin Russ and his wife's (Kara) first baby. He is soooo cute and really smiley. Adelaide LOVED him. Her interactions with him make think she'll make a decent big sister. She still runs around the house yelling "Tylah, Tylah, Tylaaaaahhhh," after every occasion where she sees his picture.

The infamous 'babes in the bath' photo! Every family's got 'em. In fact, in Jeff & Emily's photo slideshow at the reception - there were a couple photos of Jeff & I in the Grams' sink! (Jeff is exactly 3 months younger than I.)

Bitty is holding her nose and saying "stinky."
Kissing cousins? Looks like Tyler's going in for the big smooch.

Fun with Aunty Cheryl, Bitty, Tyler, and Kara at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Aunty Lolo's

We spent a week in Colorado with the Boufford Clan (my mom's family) as Cousin Jeffrey was wedded on New Year's Eve to the lovely Emily. I am going to overshare and post entirely too many photos of the trip - it was too much fun to leave anything out!

Sweet 3-D glasses in preparation for AVATAR. Cousin Monica, me, Stace.

A good chunk of the family admiring the buffalo... Adelaide would not stop mooing at them. My good Lord, I look pregnant!

Aunty Lolo (mom's younger sister) and Tyler (cousin Russ & Kara's way cute kid).

Russ must have won this rousing round of Wii... a lot of which was played in the downtime. Cousin Russ & BOSS (aka Brian Faw)

Bitty is sliding down a steep set of stairs on a slippery sleeping bag. She LOVED doing this.

December 25

Maybe the best Christmas ever! We really, really enjoyed ourselves and our family. By far, it was the greatest holiday dinner in as long as I can remember... Thyme, Rosemary, Shallot, & Garlic rubbed Prime Rib with homemade Cabernet Au Jus, Garlic & Parmesan Smashed Potatoes, Brussell Sprouts in Feta, an Herb & Spring Mix Salad and Ukranian Christmas bread. It was a meal fit for a king and it was lovely!!! I haven't yet mentioned dessert -
Staci was in charge of dessert and her creations shone like the brightest of stars. This is her Mallow Cranberry Cheesecake topped with candied Cranberries... you might kill someone for a piece of this. It WAS that good.

Bitty ate entirely too many cookies, most of which were given to her by Grandad. Here she is eating one of Gramma Hunter's (Dad's Mom) famous Crescents. A pecan shortbread cookie rolled in powdered sugar. Grandad gave her the powder sugar mustache. Cute, huh?

Another of Aunty Staci's incredible and delectable after dinner treats, Spiced Triple Berry Pie. Another dessert that might cause you to consider committing a crime if that was what it took to get some of it! I'll toot my horn and let ya'll know that I made the crust. :)

ADELAIDE LOUISE in one of her fancy outfits. She really does enjoy getting all gussied up! Merry, merry Christmas. I can only hope that everyone's holiday was as great as our was.

Holidays Hunter Style

So here we are 2010 and I have some serious blog catch up to do! To quote Staci "ummm, what's with your lame blogging abilities as of late?" We'll start right where we left off... Christmas at the Hunter household!

Bitty & Eric posing by the tree!

Dad made brownies topped with raspberry cream cheese and drizzled with dark chocolate for dessert... as if there isn't enough gluttony around the holidays. They were tasty and Aunty Staci thought the berry part made for great face paint!

Bitty's blue, blue eyes. She is so precious. Makes me wonder what the next baby is going to look like. Will we be that family where all the children are obviously cut from the same mold or will it be like Staci and I - where people would never mistake us for siblings... we'll soon find out!

Christmas a la Bob & Trudi

Merry Christmas!
We had our Stagg Family Christmas gathering last night. Adelaide got all gussied up and LOVED it. We exchanged gifts, Trudi made an outstanding meal, and Bob even pitched in and whipped up dessert - "Stand Up and Cheer Pie." Which is delicious; chocolate cookie crumb crust, peppermint ice cream filling, a merengue topping, and served with homemade dark chocolate sauce. Before the holidays are over I am going to gain all my allotted 2nd term pregnancy weight. Our families really over-enjoy food, I think.

Papa, Gammy, and Miss Fancy Pants

What a stunning tree, huh?

Gigi (my maternal grandmother) sent gifts that we opened last night. She refused to remove the hat/scarf combo for the majority of the evening. Adelaide had NO problems whatsoever in the ripping open presents department, there was neither hesitation nor confusion about what one should do with a nicely wrapped package.

As ever, Bob & Trudi are very generous gift givers and I was given a Flip Video Recorder... below is my first attempt at using it!

Sourdough Biscuits

We went to Ephrata last weekend to hang out with Ma & Pa. While I did bring the camera, I did not make good use of it. The only photos of the weekend are of Bitty in her jammies 'helping' make Sunday morning's Sourdough Biscuits.

On Saturday night we made a Prime Rib with all the fixins' (garlic mashers, au jus, horseradish, sauteed mushrooms) and Ma made an incredible triple berry lattice pie... of which there are no photos because we ate the WHOLE thing in one sitting. We were serious gluttons. It was a really great weekend with just the five of us.

Bitty loves Nana, she spent a lot of time chasing her and being chased. She also spent the entire weekend looking out the windows and mooing... bewildered about where the cows had gone. We butchered them and have already eaten some darling - bon appetit!

Makin' biscuits ya'll!

I am not sure what Mom is doing, but Bitty thinks it's awful funny.

Every time you turned away she would rip off a chunk of dough and stuff it in her mouth. Piglet in training!

Our steers arrived and Eric's best pal Rob and his 3 year old daughter, Brooke, came over to pick up their half...

Brooke insisted on taking a bath with Bitty and helping. Bitty was unsure of the entire ordeal.

Daddy's & Little Girls! I could not get Adelaide to put down 'Suzie,' every picture looks just like this one - except she's not crying in this one.

Brooke was such a sweet little thing. I was very impressed by her manners and patience (especially considering that Rob is Eric's most disgusting and uncouth friend - God love him!)

This last week has been hellish. I was dreadfully ill and had to ship my kid off to Bob & Trudi's... what a lame excuse for our first night away from her! I coughed so hard I puked and I cannot remember the last time I was this sick. Gross. Friday morning, Adelaide came down with it. From 9:00 to 10:45 she non-stop moaned/whined/cried in abject misery until she passed out. When I took her to the doc at 1:15, she threw up (with NO warning) all over herself, our stuff, the waiting room, me, the guy sitting next to us - it was in my hair folks! I called Eric in a panic and he brought us a change of clothes and such. She had a 102.5 fever. By 5 o'clock that evening she ate a steak dinner and played as if nothing ever was wrong with her! What the? (I got sick Tuesday and I still don't feel right!)
