Garage and an incident

We are getting around to finishing our garage. Eric and his dad, Bob, put in my storage shelving. I'll get better photos when he has completely finished, as Mr. Perfectionist has turned this into the Taj Mahal of garages. He stained the 2x4's before building the shelves.
Bitty says, "Holy cow! He is actually going to finish this project."
You know what they say about being a contractor's wife... everybody's house, but your own, gets worked on!

Nice work, Eric!

Eric and I did yard clean up yesterday. We raked all the leaves (if you've been to our neighborhood, you can imagine the nightmare that is) and then Eric decided he wanted it to look perfect, so he announced he would mow the lawn and "vacuum any remaining leaf bits, this lawn is going to be spotless baby!" In the process he mowed over a lime size rock which shot out of the mower like a canon ball and tore through the window in our office. It, very luckily, did no damage to any of us or our stuff. It was crazy. There was glass thrown all the way down the hall and in the farthest reaches of the guest bedroom which is at the opposite end of the house.
I guess I should be more specific when I asked for excitement. :)

Blah Blah Blase Blogging

I don't know if it's a regular ol' slump or first trimester ickies, but my blogging as of late has been garbage. Additionally, I haven't taken a decent photo in 6-8 weeks. Something interesting needs to happen to the Stagg Clan and quickly. With the holidays upon us, there is bound to be family tomfoolery which might be described as interesting (depending on your use of the adjective - for example, "Wow, this chicken is very, um... interesting).

Above, you'll find another odd childhood photo. Our first doggy, Duke, Staci - in a garbage can, and me - stuffing my face with crackers. When I peruse the pictorial images from our days as young 'uns, I often wonder, "where in the hell is my mother and if she was dutifully watching over us, what the hell was she thinking?" At the very least, we can never complain that our youth suffered from lack of adventure nor was it short on imagination. We survived and frankly it was fun. I only hope that my kids will be able to look back and remember things so fondly (most things anyway - picking rocks, cutting suckers, and weeding will never be remembered fondly, but are now appreciated for what they taught us).

Sunday Dinner

On Sunday, our friends - Dana, Alfonso, & Salome came for a visit. We had steak, taters, and salad and Dana made PB & J bars for dessert (which were unbelievably delicious).

The girls were real funny. They are only 10 weeks apart and one year olds don't really get sharing. It took them about an hour to get used to one another and to be able to play nice. Below are fathers and babies hammin' it up.

Miracle Baby

On Thursday of last week, Stace called and said "Load up, meet me in Ellensburg, you're going to Puyallup with me for Justus' birthday." It was great. Bitty did quite well for the 32 hour whirlwind road trip and it was great to meet Sarah, Andy, & Justus.

Bitty pats Justus affectionately. What a goober. I was a bit of a camera slacker and the only shots I have are these and Stace took 'em.

Here she is trying to kiss him. If you want to know why Justus is a miracle baby go to http://fuccillofamily.blogspot.com/ and see why!

Little Ladies

Only the good Lord knows why they're dressed this way... Grams, care to give an explanation? Front and center is Aunty Lori and the right most muffet with pink frillies on her head is my mom, TerriAnn.

I was perusing old photos and found this one very entertaining! I wonder if it was high tea of something of the sort? Sweeeeeet hats ladies, you get a free bowl of soup with those?

Rat in the kitchen

Just had to post this...

I was doing some dinner prep and Bitty was helping. I took my eyes off of her, while trimming up the skirt steak, and when I looked over at her... which I SWEAR was not more than 90 seconds later... there were bagels scattered all over the counter and she had one in her mouth. She had opened the bread box full of bagels and taken a bite out of each and every one.
This is hat #4... which she put on when Daddy put his hat on this morning (at 7:00 am) and has refused to remove since.

Can you believe this little rat of mine?

Pegasus

For ^8^ Halloweenie ^8^, we stayed home and Bitty handed out candy to the neighborhood ghouls. She dressed as a Pegasus Unicorn (which is a Unicorn with wings... for those of you who are not up to snuff on your fantasy). Thanks a bunch to Auntie Cheryl for sending the costume.

She was very excited to have so many little people come and visit and gladly handed out candy - but, when we said bye-bye and shut the door, she would get very upset and pound on the door while yelling. Sad and quite funny!
