MUD

I made a mud puddle for Maggie and Bitty on Friday. They got REALLY dirty and loved every second of it!

A visit from Owen.

My friend Pam & her son, Owen, came for lunch after we enjoyed a leisurely stroll through the neighborhoods of Prosser. Bitty is a fan of Owen and he makes great faces for the camera.

Kisses for Owen!

Obviously, Adelaide is enjoying herself... not sure about Owen.

Just sharing

Adelaide insisted on wearing this one morning. She very shortly after insisted that I take it off of her.
The tutu is courtesy of Aunty Cheryl and the ballet slippers from Aunty Lori. She calls the slippers her "Aunty Lolo shoes."

What are they doing?
Not really sure, but here is where I found them!

A transition...

Bitty is almost officially (it will be official, official when she is out of diapers - I keep trying, she keeps resisting) a "big girl." She has a big room with a bed and likes it!

"Look at me mama! Pretty bed."

This photo and the next are what she did when I told her to pretend she was sleeping. I found it riotously funny.

She is also fake snoring in this one.

Here's some video of her...

Field Trip!

On Saturday morning, we went out to breakfast with Bob, Trudi, and our neighbors (Brian, Lisa, & Miss Maggie). Subsequently, we visited our favorite Farmer's Market vendor, Buggirl's Garden, at her farm to purchase our tomatoes & peppers for the garden and some flowers for my beds. Here are a lot of photos from the field trip.
Eric and Adelaide.

Hello Brian!

HUGS.

You can literally see the excitement over the cookies they found at the table where you paid for your plants.

Big pregnant Jo takes a break and Bitty joins in.

Action shot... they run just about everywhere.

the rest of the story

I know Staci posted a bunch of these photos on http://stacijdesignsandimages.blogspot.com/, but here are a few more that I really like as well.

These next three are Bitty's first ever experience on a trampoline. She was thrilled. I can't wait to get her on one again. She giggled so hard she got the hiccups.

Staci and I were to trying to get a few things done and AddyLouHoo was into EVERYTHING. Staci caught her with the scissors, camera in hand, and captured her expression perfectly. Naughty, naughty, naughty!

AddyLouHoo

Staci took some really great photos of Bitty. After three days of trying, oddly, this is the only one that Blogger will load... she looks so serene.

CALEB'S 1ST BIRTHDAY

My friend Shala's son, Caleb, turned one on Saturday and we attended his birthday party. It was a beautiful day, there were BBQ'd burgers, homemade ice cream, and two kinds of cake (Red Velvet & Banana and Ginger cake). A lovely celebration...

Here's the face I got when I told Bitty she had to wait for ice cream.

He LOVED smashing his cake.

Caleb also enjoyed throwing cake and feeding it to his Grandad. He was enthralled by these balloons that his Aunt Annie was waving about in front on him. He is such a handsome little dude.

Gross...

Aunty Staci was playing with Bitty after we had given her entirely too much ice cream (after eating a huge dinner), which was like crack cocaine - highly addictive and gave her an insane sugar high. She was running around like a wild monkey. Anywho, she got so excited she puked on Staci. Ummmm, gross. No wonder Aunty Staci is not likely to procreate anytime soon. But, I digress, Adelaide has really randomly begun talking about things that she remembers from days or weeks earlier. This evening at dinner she began chattering about "pook, Taci, Bitty pook Taci mama!" It was so stinkin' funny. :)

making bugs

Eric is preparing for a sojourn from work & pregnant wife. FISHING!!! In preparation, he has been "making bugs," as Bitty has termed his fly-making. Which is an intricate and fascinating process that is absolutely absorbing to witness! Aside from all the synthetics that they use to create these little things, Eric has a collection of caribou hide, polar bear fur, seal fur (!!!!), horse hair, rabbit fur, and any type of bird feather you can imagine (peacock, guinea fowl, pheasant, jungle cock eye feather), and other strange stuff!
I should have taken more photos in the process, but I could not take my attention nor eyes off of Bitty (Curious Georgette, the destructor - she gave herself a black eye today) until Eric had already completed this one. The red stuff is dyed seal fur.

The supplies...

Daddy's collection of "bugs." Adelaide LOVES them.

Can you see how very ready Eric is for his manly-man, dude trip? Bitty had her paws all over everything and was throwing hideous fits at every mention of "no" or "don't."

Dance Party

While I was preparing dinner last Thursday evening, we put on some music and Bitty and Staci danced all over the living room. I am not sure why Bitty is in just her diaper and shoes...

29th Birthday

I am certain my birthday would have been an abject failure without the organizational zeal and party making genius of Staci Jean. She arrived on Thursday and we took some photos (I'm sure she'll post those). On Friday she took me for a pedicure, we came home and I got a nap, and then family arrived for dinner. It was a LOVELY day.
Opening presents.

Miss Bitty & Boss - obviously engaged in some very important conversation.

Delicious Lemon Ginger Cake layered with blackberry jam & lemon curd and topped with candied ginger and pistachios. It was soooooo good.

AddyLouHoo and Aunty Staci. Bitty adores her, on Saturday morning she awoke and when I went to fetch her from the crib she looked at me and said, "Staci, where is she?"

Rack of Lamb

For Easter dinner, Trudi graciously prepared a lovely meal of rack of lamb, steamed asparagus, corn casserole, and a delicious green salad. After dinner we enjoyed lemon merengue pie!

Adelaide ate as if I had not fed her for three days. After gobbling asparagus, tomatoes, and radishes she proceeded to eat FIVE lamb medallions. That was more than any adult at the table! I hardly got to eat as she sat at the table feasting and hollering "Mo' meat mama puh-lease, meat, meat, MEEEEAT." Everytime I was about to take a bite I'd look over and her plate was empty and she wanted more. Below are two videos of her antics...

Easter Sunday with Miss Maggie

We spent Easter morning with our neighbors, Brian, Lisa, & Miss Maggie (as Adelaide calls her). We had a LOVELY time. Lisa & I stashed eggs & such in their yard, the girls ran around squealing and collecting, and then we went inside for an excellent breakfast of scones, Lisa's egg casserole - which was heavenly - and fruit.

The anticipation before the "hunt."

HUGS! Maggie I can't breath...

That's better!

Everybody in the morning sun.

The girls enjoying the search for eggs and the easter bunny left bubbles, too!

Happy Easter!

Fast friends, these two have become. It's nice having good neighbors.

Scones

Here the girls are enjoying their loot & breakfast. Thanks to Gigi for the cute easter basket, which Bitty calls her "purse."
