Birthday Boy

I would be totally remiss if I did not do this one particular catch-up post...
Gunnar's 1st Bday.
Everyone's had a berry sort of cake, and theyve all been berrrrrry delicious... Bitty was strawberry, LindyJean raspberry and Gunnar blueberry.

Birthday Boy!

Mr. Stagg and Buster.

As per our usual,  first birthdays are big deal.  Lots of food, lots of people, and a pinata.  We had smoked pork shoulder, rotisserie chicken, mole, tortillas, pineapple salsa, melon, black bean and corn salad.
Aunty Staci and Gunnar Wayne.

Atila, Gunnar, and Jacob (who is but four days senior to GW).

Present Wagon, LJ, and Miss Violet.

Mama and babe.

Turns out Bitty might have my knack for completely unphotogenic facial expressions...

The naughty muffin.

Cake, cake, yummy cake.

In all seriousness, you can't have a birthday in the lower valley without a pinata.  If I were to keep up with the majority of our population's traditions, the girls will end up with quincenera's too!

My brood.

Happy Birthday.
Gunnar is a very energetic little man.  At one he is walking, mostly grunting (his only intelligible word is Mama), is my picky eater, loves his sisters - when they are not smothering him with kisses or dog piles, and gets into a lot of mischief.

September

I might get caught up, maybe.
Labor Day weekend at Nana & Crawdad's. Gunnar officially starts a walkin' and the girls rouse up trouble.

Eric, Dad, Earl, and Dan went out shooting doves.  They brought 'em in and we had a delicious feast.

Just before I have a GIANT birthday party planned for Gunnar (right before means days) where I am making all of the food from scratch, my oven/range died. Nothing to cook on and now I had to spend a bunch of money I had not planned on spending. However, Eric decided to go all out and get me a dual fuel range/oven.  Gas cooktop, electric double ovens.  It is sweet.

Unintended bonus; the giant box that the appliance came in provided many days of glorious entertainment for all three Stagglets.

LindyJean is so stinking adorable. I regularly get the urge to smother her face in kisses.

We invested in boxing gloves. Two pairs, thus far the bouts have been epic. Here she insisted on bandana, fairy wings, her crocs (which she almost never removed this summer/early fall), and boxing gloves.

What's cooking?

LindyJean and GW spent a lot of this month in cahoots... causing trouble.  Bathroom break results in dishwasher open, LJ having given GW soap, GW is on the door and he is intermittently trying to load it in dispenser and putting it in his mouth.

Working the scissor lift.

LindyJean HAD to ride the pony.

Another in cahoots moment.  She opens fridge he begins emptying contents.

Camouflage.
