Naked will do nicely, thank you!

Today, Bitty refused to get dressed.  She wiggled, cried, rolled over, kicked, & screamed like the dickens - until I stopped trying to diaper and dress her.  I only got so far as socks, shoes, and the notorious leggings.  Realizing how stinkin' lovable a 'naked-as-a-jaybird' baby is, I grabbed the camera.

Now yer' happy!  Obstinance runs deep in this child's veins and I have no doubt that this will not  be the last battle of Bitty versus JoMama.  Bitty is today's winner as it took me 15 minutes to get a nappy & clothes on her.
A face shot, because I love her mug.

Also, Spring has arrived in the Yakima valley and I love, love, love gardening and yardwork.  Bitty has enjoyed it as well and here she is chillin' in the grass on her blankie.  Thanks to cousin Brandon for her Griz sweatshirt.

Cousins

Steve & Ashley (Eric's sister & hubby) are in Mexico celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary,  Happy Anniversary Kanedas!  Trudi has the girls (Alayna, 6 and Nataley, 4) for the week and Bitty & I went for a visit.

Hello Cousins!
Alayna was very 'mothering' and it was a  hoot to watch, here she is feeding Bitty her lunch.

We went for a ride in the wagon to a small park near Gammy's house.

Alayna & Bitty picking grass and throwing it at me!

After dinner, Alayna decided they all had to bathe together... where she told me "if you need help when it's time to soap Addy up, I am an expert at washing butts; you have to get in there and scrub it good!"  Thanks for the sage wisdom Cuz 'Layna.

Nataley spraying Bitty!  The baby handled all the splashing and little girl squealing quite well!

construction dude plays farmboy...

Eric and Brian slaved all day Saturday to fix all of the handline that our steers have damaged in the pasture.  After finishing that chore, they noticed the squishy pile of decomposing hay, manure, & urine that surrounded the feeding trough.  The smell was UNBELIEVABLE, seriously it was beyond gross.  Eric has a notoriously week tummy and I am surprised he didn't puke.  He said it was all worth it for the home grown beef that we enjoy at our dinner table!

Here's Construction Dude on the tractor with Farmer Faw directing traffic.

Uncle Brian's Birthday

We went to Ephrata for the weekend for Uncle Brian's Birthday Celebration... he likes Key Lime Pie, a lot, so we made one for him and Bitty helped out.  As pictured above, he also LOVES Angel Food cake, so Stace made him one of those as well.
"Let me have one of those..."
"...for quality control purposes."

This is the face she gave us after Aunty Staci gave her a taste of Key Lime juice.  :)

Saint Patrick

I'm not Irish nor Catholic... but any excuse to eat corned beef & cabbage and drink beer and you can count me in!
We had our friends, Greg & Amber, for dinner.  I made corned beef and cabbage (with potatoes, carrots, parsnips and garlic & herbs), baked Irish soda bread, and concocted for dessert...
Apple Bread Pudding with Whiskey Custard Sauce.  Eric took this photo - kudos my love - because food is notoriously impossible to photograph and make look good (hey! food and I have something in common!)

Saving for therapy!

Some of you (Susie), think the style of dress that Bitty is subjected to will later in life require some therapy and at the very least will leave the child harboring some resentment against me.  Psychotherapy is spendy, so I guess I should start saving now, then again I don't need therapy and you should see what Terri did to us!!! :)

EXHIBIT A
My hair is a disaster and we won't even get into dolly in one hand and dead rodent in the other.

EXHIBIT B
WOW!!!  Mom, why is Staci dressed like she rides the short bus?

Here is an example of such an outfit - that I am rather fond of, in fact!

I love the leggings.

Mommas, "Babylegs" are soooo adorable and they have them in boy and girl designs.
The gigantic flower will certainly be the subject of much speculation.

Which dwarf?

As you may know, Eric is fond of putting Bitty's ears out of her hat & she looked particularly impish today...

Which of the seven dwarves is she?  Grumpy, Dopey, Bashful, Sleepy, Doc, Sneezy, or Happy?

playing catch up

I just published 4-5 posts.  Had a busy week and didn't get to it until this morning.  Read on friend...

We love Daddy

This onesie is real cute!

If you can't read it... "If you think I'm cool, you should see my Dad."

Sundays.

I think I've mentioned it, but maybe not... Adelaide was gifted a HUGE wagon for Christmas by Bob & Trudi.  We've yet to drag it home and so when visiting the in-laws yesterday afternoon (to watch NASCAR and gnosh on Trudi's fabulous Rueben sandwiches), Eric decided to take her for a ride.  I LOVE IT.

I can't quite decipher this look.  I think it's along the lines of a Dirty Harry stinkeye - "Go ahead punk, make my day!"

Also,  a fascination with zippers, buttons, and newspapers has developed.  Here is Bitty reading the Wall Street Journal with Daddy this morning.  So smart!

NOODLES.

We don't have cable and don't really watch TV anyways, so we have to find other means of entertainment, in the last 7 months the amusement is generally Bitty.
We gave Bitty pasta for the first time on Friday night.  She was a hoot.  Atila, who has begun to show some interest in the baby, is now very fond of her.  She picked up noodles, threw them on the floor until she had only two left on her tray, and then proceeded to eat those two noodles.

Who needs a vacuum cleaner when you own a yellow lab!?!

Notice the dog?  He looks like he about to chew her hand off.

Visit with Friends!

I went to Lake Stevens for a few days to visit my best gal from college, Samantha Maxine!  We met up at her parents house and just enjoyed each other's company, while trying to keep up with Sam's daughter, Addison.  She will be two in April and has more energy than a barrel of monkeys who've binged on cocaine, seriously she's wild.  She has a growing and hysterical vocabulary and loves raisins and pickles.  She's super cute and extra naughty.
Playing with bubbles... that she later ended up eating some of.
Sam & Bitty observing bubble creation.
Trying to get the munchkins to pose or maybe even look at the camera, a futile endeavor.

Sam & Addison.
