Close ups

I was out picking tomatoes and Bitty decided she would have a couple herself... she looked like pigpen by the time we were ready to come inside. Be sure to click on photos and enlarge them, for the full effect, that is.

Day Trip to the Johnson Residence

Made another trip to Hermiston today... and I BROUGHT my camera. Hooray! My girlfriend, Amber called on Monday and said that she and Lisa were going to visit Kate and Baby Mitchell and that I ought to meet them. ... Everyone's from Ephrata, we went to school together, and we've known one another since we were little people. (The history's for you Aunty Lori - you always want to know who's in the photo and who they are to us.)

Amber (holding Mitch), Lisa, Me, Kate, and Bitty.

Vicki (Kate's ma-in-law) made us lunch, I made us a peach cobbler for dessert, we went for a stroll, lounged in the backyard, oooood and aaaaahhhhd over Mitch... what a fantastic day.

Mitchell Bryan Johnson. He is very handsome, soft, & snuggly - Kate & Bryan, I think you've got a keeper.

Bitty was, of course, fascinated by this little grunting, wiggly being. She liked him in the swing, he was within reach and at eye level. She was "helping" him.

Itty Bitty Gardener

More like Itty Bitty Plant Destroyer... but, I do believe she'll be a gardener in time. Adelaide has, in increasing intervals and for longer durations, been standing up all on her own.
Walking is not far off folks. Look out world, here she comes!

Mmmmm, dirt is tasty!

Picking delicious green beans.

Atila and Bitty shared tomatoes.

It was kinda gross, she'd often offer one, he'd lick it and then she'd eat it. However, I wasn't paying that great of attention - so I'm sure I did not notice this until it'd been going for some time already. Oops, a little doggy slobber never killed a kid, right?

Carnival

Thanks to Kara, Russ, & Tyler for a fabulous birthday gift!

Our neighbor, Mr. Heard, drove by and asked if the carnival had come to town... and what was that in the tent? I replied - oh, that thing? She came with the teepee!
Adelaide has already spent much time crawling through the tunnel from tent to teepee and teepee to tent. She LOVES this thing.

Babies

Can you believe that this is the same baby, a year later? Wow, they can be so weird looking when they've just arrived.

This came to mind because I had the opportunity to visit my dear girlyfriend Kate and her 6 day old bundle of joy, Mitchell Bryan Johnson. He is perfect - doesn't have a case of the uglies like poor Bitty had. Holy cow, she was homely for awhile. I would love to post a picture of him, but I forgot my camera when I went to their house. Which is a real bummer, because he is so handsome and Adelaide was super fascinated with him.

Adelaide is 1

Adelaide Louise is one year old today and I cannot hardly believe it. She is such a little gem. We celebrated on Saturday and here are ENTIRELY too many photos to prove it. It was a lovely party and Adelaide was very lucky to have so many friends and family there, thanks to everyone!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!

The not so little red wagon...

Here we are on our way to the Farmer's Market...

Bitty's first baseball cap (compliments of Trudi) and the wagon sure came in handy for hauling off the 75 lbs of Apricots we purchased for canning and jam making.
